The American Coatings Show & Conference: Green Light for 2010!

All signals are set to "Go!" for the 2010 American Coatings Show & Conference. Following its successful June 2008 premiere, the next event will take place April 12-15, 2010 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C. The combined event will kickoff with the conference, which will open its doors on Monday, April 12 and close on April 14. The show will begin on Tuesday, April 13 and run through April 15. The American trade show for the paint and coatings industry is hosted by the National Paint & Coatings Association (NPCA), Washington, D.C., and Vincentz Network (VN), Hanover, Germany; Nürnbergmesse North America, Atlanta is organizer of the show.

At the 2008 premiere, 5,600 visitors from 48 countries gathered information from 331 exhibitors, who displayed products and services related to all aspects of paint and coatings formulation in 69,000 square feet of exhibition space. According to Andy Doyle, NPCA president, it's clear after just the first event that the concept behind the American Coatings Show has been convincingly implemented: "A central platform for discourse and business is definitely beneficial for our industry. The sector is very international and just as innovative; professional dialogue between developers, manufacturers and users on a personal level is a decisive advantage when it comes to creating a competitive edge. The 2008 American Coatings Show was completely satisfying in this respect and has already shown greater potential for the future."

With approximately 750 attendees from 25 countries, the 2008
American Coatings Conference surpassed expectations. It featured more than 70 lectures and other presentations and events. Friederike Plasswich, manager of event services for VN and the person responsible for organizing the conference, is already looking forward to 2010: "The concept of a combination of international top speakers and very current, forward-looking technical subjects is what makes the conference program so appealing. But even we were surprised by the excellent feedback for the first American Coatings Conference. Naturally, we are doing our utmost to put together another top-level conference program for 2010 and to enhance it with new highlights."

The organizers selected the Charlotte Convention Center after intensive comparison of the other potential venues – a good decision, as it turned out: "Both the basic conditions at the Charlotte Convention Center as well as the city's infrastructure immediately seemed right, " commented Dirk Ebener, managing director of NürnbergMesse North America. "We are convinced that, based on our experience there, we can further optimize the 2010 event for exhibitors and visitors. We also should not forget the proverbial 'hospitality of the southern states, ' which Charlotte definitely lived up to in 2008. This backdrop will ensure a successful trade show and conference once again in 2010."
