MiningWorld Central Asia 2008

The Central Asian International Exhibition of Mining Equipment, Ore and Mineral Mining and Concentration – MiningWorld Central Asia 2008 will take place on 17-19 September at the Atakent Exhibition Centre of Almaty.

This year, the scale of the event is unprecedented: the professional business forum for experts of the mining and metallurgical industries in Central Asia, MiningWorld Central Asia 2008, will unite three exhibitions and a forum:

The 14th Central Asian International Exhibition of Mining Equipment, Ore and Mineral Mining and Concentration – MiningWorld Central Asia 2008 (17-19 September, Pavilions 9a, 9b, 9c, Atakent Exhibition Centre and the outdoor area);

The Innovation Mining and Metallurgy Forum (17 September, Gerei Khan Hall, Bakshasarai Reception House);

The 5th Jubilee Kazakhstan International Exhibition of Quarrying, Hoisting and Handling Equipment, Industrial and Road Construction – Kazcomak 2008 (17-19 September, Pavilions 9a and 9c, Atakent Exhibition Centre and the outdoor area); and

The Central Asian International Exhibition of Metallurgy, Metal Working and Machine-Building – KazMet 2008 (17-19 September, Pavilions 9b and 9c, Atakent Exhibition Centre).

The joint exposition of all the projects will present over 300 companies from 26 countries of the world. The constant exhibitors have been joined by companies of Belarus, India, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates. Many foreign exhibitors will be represented by their national stands. These include China, Norway, Finland, Germany, and Russia (with a delegation of the Urals Region enterprises). The area of the exhibitions will exceed 7, 000 square metres.

"Special mention should be made of the Kazcomak Specialised Exhibition, which is marking its 5th jubilee anniversary this year and is a kind of a record-setter among exhibition events. Since its very inception, the number of Kazcomak exhibitors would grow practically in an arithmetical progression. I am sure that the subject matter of the exhibition – Quarrying, Hoisting and Handling Equipment, Industrial and Road Construction – will keep expanding in the future to include new topics as the exhibition is a reflection of the development of Kazakhstan's industry, " says Boris Danilenko, Project Manager. After a timeout, this year will see the comeback of the KazMet Exhibition, which will feature leading manufactures of equipment for metallurgy and metal working, machine-tool and machine-building plants of the CIS and foreign nations. KazMet is designed to enhance a successful dialogue between manufacturers and consumers of the metallurgical industry.

The Innovation Mining and Metallurgy Forum will be attended by 120 delegates. Reports will be made by senior representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Environment Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry for Emergencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Kazakhstan's industrial giants, such as ENRC Kazakhstan, KazakhMys, KazZinc, and KazAtomProm.

Innovatory projects and developments will be the subjects of reports by both foreign guests and Kazakhstan scientists. Foreign speakers will include CEOs of major companies from Holland, Norway, Russia, United States, and Ukraine, as well as the International Union of Metallurgists. Co-organiser of Mining and Metallurgical Innovation Forum is engineering company Oriental Co. Ltd. Sponsors of the Event are: Innov-X Systems, Oracle, SAP Kazakhstan.

According to Bulat Uzhkenov, Doctor of Science (Geology and Mineralogy), Chairman of the Committee for Geology and Subsoil Use under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan: "The Exhibition and the Forum are especially important for the development of the country's mining industry and metallurgy as they will bring together a lot of major manufacturers, investors, associations and consumers, and provide a good environment for further co-operation in this area. I am happy to note that the exhibitors and organisers of the Exhibition and the Forum pursue a clear goal – provide a new incentive for the development of the mining industry, attract new investments, the world's best technologies and equipment, find promising scientific developments and introduce them in production."

As stated by Andrei Rudenko, Trade Commissioner of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan: "Russian companies jointly with their Kazakhstan partners have been successfully implementing projects on development and master mining of deposits. Interaction in the sphere of ore and minerals mining and concentration is one of the most important directions of economic co-operation of Russia and Kazakhstan. The MiningWorld Central Asia International Exhibition is one of the most prestigious events in the mining industry in the Central Asia Region. It traditionally assembles a multitude of industry specialists from all over the world, including those from the Russian Federation."

Official support for the events is provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry for Emergencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akimat (administration) of Almaty City, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and diplomatic missions of the exhibiting countries. The unfailing organisers of the events are Iteca, an exhibition company of Kazakhstan, together with its international partners: ITE Group Plc (UK), GIMA (Germany), EUF A.S. (Turkey), and ITE China (China).
