Specialist Trade Fair for Heavy & Commercial Vehicle Parts...

With a little less than two months before it opens more than 270 exhibitors have already confirmed their presence in the 30,000 square meters of exhibition area which will house the AUTOMEC HEAVY & COMMERCIAL (1st Specialist Trade Fair for Heavy & Commercial Vehicle Parts, Equipment and Services), which takes place from 7th to 11th October, in the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion in São Paulo. "We're very close to reaching our initial objective, which is to have 300 exhibitors", observes Evaristo Nascimento, Director of Fairs for Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, the promoter of the new event.

Aimed at a market that has grown a lot over the last few years, "segmentation can offer business opportunities for exhibitors and visitors alike", observes Theophil Jaggi, a director of SINDIPEÇAS (Vehicle Components' Industry National Trade Federation). "This was necessary and urgent due to the lack of space in our traditional AUTOMEC trade fair, which is aimed mainly at the light vehicle market", he adds.

"In addition to representing an important segment of our business, the heavy vehicle line, AUTOMEC HEAVY & COMMERCIAL supplies the need of our associates for having a space to show their products. For some time now. many of them have been asking to take part or to expand the stands they have at the traditional AUTOMEC fair. But as Anhembi cannot get any bigger we believe that we are meeting the legitimate demand that exists in this way", adds Paulo Butori, Chairman of SINDIPEÇAS.

Although SINDIPEÇAS has no specific statistical information about the production of vehicle parts for the heavy vehicle line, one of the biggest challenges for the Brazilian auto parts industry currently is to accompany the major growth that is occurring in vehicle production, and which is likely to exceed 15% this year. Estimates from the trade federation indicate a hitherto unheard of volume of 3.4 million units produced in 2008 and 3.6 million in 2009. As a result the suppliers of the vehicle assembly companies are facing what they have called stress in the production chain. "Despite the difficulty that many companies are having to invest in increasing capacity and problems of a lack of raw materials we are still managing to accompany the pace of growth of the vehicle assembly companies", says Flávio Del Soldato, the SINDIPEÇAS director who is responsible for doing the survey.

AUTOMEC HEAVY & COMMERCIAL is directed at fleet-operators, mechanical repair garages, buyers for the Brazilian and international vehicle industry, sellers of autoparts and accessories, professionals from the logistics segment and business people from the industry. It is expected that there will be some 20,000 buyers from 30 countries.

Hundreds of products will be available to visitors during the five days of the event. Among the new things will be: flywheels, cylinder heads, blocks, crankshafts, command axles, pistons, rings, joints, piston valves, pneumatic tools, brake cylinders for tractors, brake drums and disks, wheel hubs, supports, suspension wishbones and suspension arms, components, aluminium sets and sub-sets, extruded aluminium profiles, digital laser aligners for lorries/buses/trailers and semi-trailers, local wheel balancers, pulleys, tensors, hydraulic actuator, bearings and parts for universal joints and clutches, seals, clutch systems, fuel pumps, screws for cylinder heads, fuel tank belts, radiator fans, seat structures, handles for adjusting seats, retaining rings, plate springs, smooth and wavy washers, elastic pins, wire parts and welded joints, wheel screws and nuts, solenoids for starter motors, starter motors, alternators.
