The International Manufacturing Technology Show

The 27th edition of the premier manufacturing technology show in North America IMTS The International Manufacturing Technology Show will take place September 8-13 at Chicago's McCormick Place complex. More than 1,200 exhibiting companies will occupy 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space for the six day exhibition.

Over 91,000 manufacturing industry professionals from the United States and from over 119 countries from around the world attend IMTS. They attend to see more than 15,000 new machine tools, controls, computers, software, components, systems and processes that can improve their efficiency. They also gain valuable ideas and insights from the world's leading equipment producers. They come to look and they come to buy.

To help guide attendees to booths quickly and easily, IMTS exhibits are organized in Pavilions that are address specific industries, technologies and solutions including Abrasive Machining/Sawing/Finishing; Controls & CAD/CAM; EDM; Gear Generation; Machine Components/Cleaning/Environmental; Metal Cutting; Metal Forming & Fabricating/Lasers; Quality Assurance; and Tooling and Workholding Systems.

The Manufacturing Business and Technology Forum, "Where Technology and Business Connect, " will bring together experts from the industry provide the most useful and up-to-date technical information available.

Programs will be presented by five partners: AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Center for Automotive Research, American Society for Precision Engineering, MTConnect, Tooling U, and National Tooling & Machining Association.

The ETC Emerging Technology Center, in addition to having university & research laboratories exhibit their new technology research and development efforts in science-based manufacturing and innovative process developments, will be showcasing MTConnect, a new communication protocol standard for passing data between devices, equipment, and higher level applications.

The new Innovation Center highlights a relevant theme brought to life through thought-provoking theater-style presentations by industry experts each day during the six-days of the show. The Innovation Center/Theme Day lineup includes: Monday, September 8, Automotive Day sponsored by Ward's Automotive Group; Tuesday, September 9, Quality Day sponsored by Quality Magazine; Wednesday, September 10, Aerospace/Aeronautics Day sponsored by Aerospace Manufacturing & Design Magazine, Thursday, September 11, Power Generation/Green Day sponsored by Today's Energy Solutions; Friday, September 12, Medical Day sponsored by Today's Medical Developments Magazine; and Saturday, September 13, Job Shop Day sponsored by American Machinist Magazine.
