Oils+Fats 2008: Industry Gathering For The Oils and Fats Industry

Experts and decision-makers from the oils and fats industry will meet at the second oils+fats – the International Trade Fair for the Manufacture and Processing of Oils and Fats Made from Renewable Raw Materials – at the M, O, C, Event Center from November 18 – 20, 2008 to exchange information about the latest trends and technological developments and to establish new business ties. When the fair celebrated its premiere in 2007, which was attended by 69 of the market's leading manufacturers from 14 countries and 1,100 trade visitors from 58 countries, Munich International Trade Fairs managed to establish the market's only international trade show for the oils and fats industry.

This was also reflected by an exhibition survey that was conducted by the independent market-research institute forschungplus: 93 percent of all exhibitors gave oils+fats a rating of good to excellent for the quality of its visitors. Among other things, that is because 87 percent of the visitors have decision-making authority in their companies, and 49 percent are the final decision-making authority.

The survey also underscored the fact that exhibitors were very satisfied with the exhibition's premiere: 96 percent of the exhibitors said that they would recommend oils+fats to others, and just as many said that they would participate in the fair again.

According to Norbert Bargmann, Managing Director at Munich International Trade Fairs, "Given the fact that it has a 49% share of foreign visitors, oils+fats is a tremendous success internationally. We are very pleased that the premiere was so well received among industry representatives."

When oils+fats was established in 2007, it gave the rapidly growing market for oils and fats its first international exhibition. Oils and fats made from renewable raw materials – whether they are used as food, fuels or as a basis for manufacturing a number of other products – are a growth market whose significance continues to grow, particularly in light of increasingly critical resource shortages.

When oils+fats opens its gates in 2008, once again it will bring together the necessary expertise and the business know-how and give the oils and fats industry an optimum forum again this year.
