CeBIT Australia-2008

Communications innovators and Software as a Service (SaaS) pioneers from both Australia and overseas are among the finalists for prestigious CeBIT.AU Business Awards to be presented at the giant CeBIT Australia 2008 business technology trade event. The CeBIT.AU Business Awards recognise outstanding innovation in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. The awards are timed to co-incide with CeBIT Australia 2008, the largest business technology trade fair in the region.

CeBIT Australia 2008 will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour from May 20-22. The event features six specialist conferences, 750+ exhibitors and will attract more than 35,000 business visitors to the site.

Jackie Taranto, Managing Director of CeBIT Australia 2008 organiser said the 2008 Award nominations had included outstanding examples of Australian companies that were already performing well in international markets, as well as top-drawer entries from overseas companies.

"These CeBIT.AU Business Awards are an important recognition of the hard work and creative energy that goes into making successful ICT products and services for the business community, " Ms Taranto said.

The CeBIT.AU Business Awards covered eight business technology categories in 2008 CeBIT.AU Business Advantage Award; CeBIT.AU Early Innovators Award; CeBIT.AU Entrepreneurial Excellence Award; CeBIT.AU Excellence in Communications Award; CeBIT.AU Excellence in Engineering Design Award; CeBIT.AU Excellence in New Media Award; CeBIT.AU Excellence in Technology Services Award; CeBIT.AU Platinum Award for Export Excellence Award.

The winners of the CeBIT.AU Business Awards will be formally announced at a special ceremony in the BuddeCom Theatre on the CeBIT Australia 2008 exhibition show floor at 2pm on Wednesday May 21. Winners will be presented with their CeBIT.AU Business Award at the ICT Celebration Dinner that night.
