Digital Platforms, Broadband, Triple Play, Fiber Networks and IP Services are the key topics of ANGA Cable 2008. Europe's leading Trade Fair for Cable, Broadband and Satellite will take place 27-29 May in Cologne/Germany.

To enhance the international profile of the event, the second day of the congress will turn into the "International Day". The agenda will start with the "Broadband Summit" and 8 top managers of telecommunications companies from 6 countries. They will discuss market opportunities and potentials of the different broadband technologies. The keynote will be held by Giuliano Berretta (CEO Eutelsat).

The other participants are: Thomas Hintze (CEO UPC Austria), Duco Sickinghe (CEO Telenet Belgium), Mario Mella (CTO Fastweb Italy), Harald Rösch (CEO HanseNet/Alice Germany), Klaus Thiemann (CEO Kabel BW Germany) and leading representatives of Alcatel-Lucent and Scientific Atlanta. The Broadband Summit will be presented by Stuart Thomson (Cable & Satellite Europe Magazine). In addition to the Broadband Summit seven more panels will be held in English. As in previous years there will be a simultaneous German/English translation for all events.

The "Strategy Summit" on the first day of the event will again be the discussion platform for the top representatives of German network operators and content providers. With Thomas Braun (ANGA Association of German Cable Operators) as the host of the event and Dr. Adrian von Hammerstein (CEO Kabel Deutschland), Parm Sandhu (CEO Unitymedia Group), Ferdinand Kayser (CEO SES ASTRA), Dr. Andreas Bereczky (ZDF), Jürgen Doetz (VPRT), Werner Hanf (NetCologne) and Marc Schröder (Deutsche Telekom) there will be a first-class panel discussion.

Besides these two summits 16 panels will take place in total. Peter Charissé, ANGA´s Managing Director: "We have upgraded the congress programme significantly: More Broadband, More Content, More international. As announced in 2007, we put more Broadband and IP topics on the agenda."

On 27 May two technology panels will start with headend and system solutions for Next Generation Networks. On the following day hybrid infrastructures as well as On Demand and IP-based broadband solutions for cable and optical networks will be on the agenda. The third day will focus on content protection, VoIP, IPTV and FTTH.
