Antwerp Contingent to Exhibit at Hong Kong Show Diamond Pavilion

The Antwerp diamond industry will be represented in full force at this year's Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, which is scheduled to open on March 4 and run through March 8.

Twenty-five Antwerp-based companies will be participating in the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion, which is located in Hall 5, and a further 10 companies will exhibit independently at other locations in the show.

The Antwerp Diamond Pavilion at the 2008 Hong Kong show will feature a classic and open design, which aims to attract visitors and enable them to conduct business in as comfortable a setting as possible. It is situated in a prime position, since Hall 5 is the most well visited of the show's various exhibition spaces.

"Hong Kong is a critically important market from Antwerp's perspective, hence the supreme effort that we have made to guarantee that our industry holds an attractive position at the show, " said Freddy J. Hanard, CEO of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), which organises the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion. "Given the expected growth of the Hong Kong market, supporting the activities of Antwerp-based companies in this region has become one of our core activities. We are, therefore, delighted to note that Antwerp's presence in Hong Kong this year has taken several large strides forward."

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) is the official representative of the Belgian diamond sector, and in this capacity is charged with managing the relationship between the diamond sector and government, and promoting the interests of the Belgian diamond industry worldwide.
