Toronto International Boat Show-2008

The Toronto International Boat Show has plenty to celebrate in 2008 as it marks its Golden Anniversary. The annual show will feature an overhaul of The Lake to showcase on-the-water boating activities including a new wakeboarding show. Exclusive access to the show is available for the 9th Annual Boating For Charity Special Preview Night on Friday, January 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Direct Energy Centre. The Toronto International Boat Show will host its annual charity event to draw hundreds of boaters and boating enthusiasts together to help kids find calmer waters by raising money to support various children's charities.

Hosted by CHUM-FM's Roger Ashby, more than 300 live and silent auction items will be up for bid, including what promises to be the hot ticket item of the night - a limited edition 50th Anniversary boat from Chris Craft.

To commemorate the show's 50th Anniversary, Pride Marine Group will be presenting a customized Chris Craft 20 Lancer for auction, valued at more than $62, 000.

The exclusive Anniversary boat features a MerCruiser 5.0L MPI 260HP V8 engine with selectable Corsa Stainless Steel Exhaust, Honduran Teak covering boards, aluminium steering wheel and dash plate, plus an exclusive vintage 1958 yellow gel-coat Anniversary finish. The boat also includes a Shorelandr' custom matched tandem trailer.

Pride Marine Group will be featuring four additional Anniversary Boats on the show floor and will offer visitors the opportunity to order the limited edition boat – but only during the Show's 10-day run.

Preview Night is also more than a charity event; it is a unique opportunity to be the first to experience and shop from over 550 marine exhibitors while mingling and enjoying live entertainment, food and drinks.
