Decoration+Design Trade Fair 2008

After it's debut in 2007, Australia's leading interior and soft furnishings Trade Fair, Decoration+Design Sydney returns to the Sydney Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour from 6-8 February 2008. After the success at last year's exhibition, Decoration+Design Sydney will bring together soft furnishing and interior exhibitors from around the country. New releases on show at Decoration+Design Sydney will include fabrics, soft furnishings, decorative art and homewares, lamps and lighting, bed linen, rugs, cushions and indoors/outdoors furniture from exhibitors including Hermon & Hermon, Pure Linen and Cromwell.

As well as existing exhibitors the show will be joined by new and exciting talent such as Carina Sherlock Enterprises with their range of cushions, wall art, soft furnishings and accessories for the home. Mainly designed in-house the products are then made in Indonesia using local traditional and modern craftsmanship.

Another exhibitor to make their debut at the show is Vehara, featuring a collection of silver plated, handcrafted homewares and lighting, blending traditional eastern mastery with western style and practicality. The company is run by two sisters, Intan and Sakinah Kosem.

Graham & Brown will be displaying their wide array of wallcoverings at the event. Their collection includes some of the best known retailers around the world with designers such as Julian Mcdonald, Hemmingway (Wayne) and Funky Monkey putting their unique mark on the home.

A highlight of the 2008 event is Kaye Gosline (USA) the creative director for Milliken floor covering and an internationally recognised colour expert in the carpet industry. Kaye has also written two critically acclaimed books, About Colour One and About Colour Two, and will be a key speaker at the hugely popular International Industry Seminar Series, which will also include Michael Leow from Mix Future Interiors magazine (UK) speaking on Future Trend Directions in the Global Home Furnishings Industry.

Decoration+Design Sydney will also feature Sustainable Style, challenging six acclaimed designers to layout and furnish 3.5x4 metre rooms using 75% sustainable products. These designers will unleash their creative flair in diminutive areas. Decorating to the theme of Environmentally Sustainable, the designers will each create an eco-friendly and maintainable living space.
