BETT Is The World's Educational Technology Event

It is that time of year again when nearly 30,000 visitors descend upon London Olympia for what has become the biggest and best technology in education show in the world. Taking place from the 9 -12 of January 2008 at London Olympia, BETT 2008 promises to be the biggest yet with almost 700 educational suppliers attending.

Showcasing the best in UK and international educational technology products, resources and best practice, BETT welcomes visitors and suppliers from around the world to share their innovations.

As technology continues to feature across the school curriculum, attending BETT has never been more essential for anybody involved in education. For ICT managers, classroom teachers, school leaders and local authority advisors this is the opportunity for schools to ensure they are using the very best technology to suit their individual needs. With all subjects covered, schools need not settle for their nearest available technology option but instead view all possibilities under one roof.

BETT 2008 will cover this year's hot topics including Personalised Learning, 14-19 reform, Learning Platforms, Curriculum Focus, Inclusion and Assessment so teachers can keep their fingers on the pulse while they learn how to accommodate these subjects with the latest technology. In addition, a Policy and Practice area will offer practical advice on implementing education, policy and funding.

New to BETT 2008 is the 'Pupil Voice' stand on C62 and D62. Aware that learning must be designed with the full involvement of the learners, Pupil Voice provides an opportunity for learners to share their learning experiences and hear their views on learning of the future. Their teachers will be on hand to share how the implementation of technology in education can motivate and improve learning.

A choice from over 100 seminars and workshops which offer CPD opportunities from high profile speakers is the perfect accompaniment to the information visitors will have already learnt at the exhibitor stands. All seminars are free of charge but due to their popularity, a nominal booking fee is offered to secure places.

Speakers include Professor Mike Sharples, Professor of Learning Sciences at the University of Nottingham. He will be discussing the emergence of social networked learning into classrooms through mobile networked devices. He will address the important challenges, including how to link formal and informal learning, how to cope with the disruption of personal technology in schools, and how to design mobile technology for learning.
