InnoTrans Berlin-2008

Anyone who wants to exhibit at a international trade show such as InnoTrans has to book early. But even those with many years of experience in the trade show business are surprised at the rate at which applications have been coming in for InnoTrans 2008. InnoTrans Berlin is the world's trade show for rail transport technology, with a particular emphasis on the areas of Railway Technology, Interiors, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Tunnel Construction. The seventh InnoTrans will be taking place next year from 23 to 26 September on the Exhibition Grounds in Berlin.

Growing international attention is being directed at InnoTrans, with more enquiries from Middle Eastern countries, for example from Dubai, as well as from India and Vietnam., expressing an interest not only in staging presentations at the trade show but also about the possibility of sending high-ranking delegations to InnoTrans. Last year 1,603 exhibitors from 41 countries and some 65, 000 trade visitors from 109 countries attended the world's leading trade show for rail transport technology in Berlin.

Applications to exhibit in the traditional sections of Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure and Public Transport are being received earlier than ever, and the more recent displays devoted to Interiors and Tunnel Construction are also expanding at a rapid pace. Next year the Tunnel Construction section will be in Hall 5.2, immediately adjacent to Railway Infrastructure and Railway Technology.

InnoTrans encompasses a wide range of topics and the clear arrangement in accordance with the main themes of the exhibition has proved highly effective. This is borne out by the presence of some twelve national industry associations, which are distributing their presentations among the corresponding sections of the display to a greater extent.

The outdoor display area at InnoTrans is unique, with a total of 2,000 metres of its own rail track and direct links with the halls, and there has been enormous interest in this facility. Even more enquiries are being received than in 2006, with a significant increase in the interest being shown by the manufacturers of goods wagons.

The InnoTrans Convention is "picking up speed". The most important events of the technical supporting programme at InnoTran are the Dialogue Forum, European and Asian Rail Summit (EARS) and International Tunnel Forum. EARS is where transport ministers and chief executives of railway companies from Europe and Asia can meet to discuss current challenges facing the industry.

For exhibitors and trade visitors attending InnoTrans 2008 its organiser, Messe Berlin, is providing an extensive package of services, which include online registration as well as the Career Point and Virtual Market Place. The Career Point was successfully launched in 2006 and is the best place for newcomers to the industry to make contact with leading exhibitors at InnoTrans 2008 too.
