HD Expo Unveils 3d Day

HD EXPO will present a full day of highly anticipated 3D panels and screenings on November 8th, the second day of its expanded two-day conference and exhibition in Burbank, California.

The presentations include "A Multidimensional Conversation About 3D" featuring the industry's leading 3D experts in a far-ranging discussion of the state of 3D followed by a screening of the most compelling new content headed to screens in the next few months.

The panel will offer insights and demonstrations of 3D, which has arguably become the hottest topic in today's entertainment technology marketplace. Kicking off HD EXPO's 3D Day, is a panel of artists, technologists and visual effects supervisors who will guide the audience through the creation – to – projection process of 3D.

Screening 3D material from eagerly anticipated releases including U2 3D and BEOWULF, the panel will discuss the creation and distribution of 3D content and address intriguing questions about the emerging marketplace as 3D becomes widespread.

HD EXPO 3D Day, November 8th, kicks off with Rob Engle moderating a Sony Pictures Imageworks panel of artists, technologists and supervisors who will take the audience through the process of creating 3D assets and transforming them into a stereoscopic adventure. Engle, well known Stereographer and Digital Effects Supervisor, has worked on a number of the top releases in 3D including OPEN SEASON, MONSTER HOUSE, and POLAR EXPRESS. The Sony Pictures Imageworks panel begins at 12:30 on November 8th.
