International trade fair Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation

International trade fair refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation - IKK, which will be held for the first time at the new venue in Stuttgart from 8 to 10 October 2008, is attracting a great deal of attention. Just under one third of all the exhibitors at IKK 2006 have already expressed an interest in taking part in the trade fair in 2008. This is especially pleasing since exhibitor advertising for IKK only started recently, a good 18 months before the trade fair, with the dispatch of the first mailshot. The German market for refrigeration and air conditioning equipment is still the market in Europe.

The discussions also revealed something other than unexploited potential: the refrigeration and air conditioning industry has by no means committed itself. Attendance at a trade fair is not normally an impulsive decision, but is well-thought out economically after considering all advantages and disadvantages. It is therefore not surprising that the majority of companies which exhibited at the last IKK are now still biding their time around 18 months before the start of the trade fair.

Those exhibitors already familiar with Messe Stuttgart from their own experience are looking forward to the greatly improved infrastructure at the New Trade Fair Centre next door to Stuttgart Airport. In the past individual sectors of IKK formed part of events in Stuttgart, for example the bakers trade fair Südback, the butchers trade fair Süffa, Intergastra or the wine and fruit juice technology trade fair Intervitis Interfructa. It is obvious that this also creates synergy effects for IKK, which will be exploited to the full.

However, since the concept has been ideally adapted to the new opportunities, it will be possible to attract not only additional exhibitors, but also visitor target groups which have been neglected to date. Reiner Schanz, IKK Project Manager, emphasised that these visitor target groups do not specifically come from the plumbing and heating trades.
