Hong Kong Optical Fair

Stepping into its 15th edition, the Hong Kong Optical Fair is one of the most important trade events in Asia for the thriving and fast-growing optical industry. The Hong Kong Optical Fair will be held from November 6 to 8, 2007 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, over 530 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions will participate and bring their newest eyewear designs to this fair. Some well-known brands include mikli, Harry Lary's (France), less than human, Yellows Plus, Solid Blue, Masunaga (Japan), and Gotti (Switzerland) will join the fair.

The Retail & Shop Design, Equipment and Technology Section, an integral feature of the fair, continues to inspire shop owners on ideas to improve their retail establishment. Around 30 exhibitors will display point-of-sale equipment & technology, furniture & fixtures, lighting technology and packaging services etc.

Hong Kong Optometric Conference, coming to its 5th edition, will be held on 7 November. It continues to line up world-acclaimed speakers from Hong Kong and around the world to host this annual conference. This will offer the optometrist community a lively forum to discuss the most important and pressing ophthalmic issues of the day.

Not less important is the Eyewear Trend Seminar, which will be held on 6 November - the first day of the fair. It will reveal upcoming eyewear trends in terms of colors and materials used which will definitely provide insights to traders about the future trend.

Another focus of the fair will be the ever-popular event - the 9th Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition. Themed under "Your Style, Your Character" this year, the competition demonstrates the creativity of local designers. In addition to awards given to the Corporate, Open and Student groups, "The Greatest Creativity Award" and the newly added "The Most Trendy Award" will also be presented this year. A display showing winning entries of the competition will be set up at Hall 1 Concourse at the fairground.
