International Renewable And Conventional Power Generation Week

Expoenergética, Week of Renewable and Conventional Energies, aims at becoming one of the first neutral events towards the environment held in Spain. The event, which will be held during 19th, 20th, and 21st November 2007 in the premises of Fira de Valencia, is expected to house more than 5,000 people, between visitors and exhibiting companies.

The agreement held between the organisation of the fair, Five Continents, and Zeroemissions, a company of Abengoa which provides global solutions for Climate Change, will allow to carry out an inventory of all direct and indirect sources of emissions of greenhouse effect gases for their subsequent neutralisation.

Both the exhibiting companies, which are more than 100, and the visitors will be able to actively contribute with this environmental initiative, by buying carbon credits which prevent or reduce the CO2 emissions somewhere else around the world.

The offsetting of the unavoidable CO2 emissions is a well known and backed up practice in the organisation of events. With this, we achieve a double effect: to compensate the ecological impact of the meeting, raising the people's awareness at the same time on the environmental responsibility of our actions. And all this, with an extra incentive: to contribute with projects in underdeveloped countries, in order to lay the foundations of a true sustainable development.
