Baufach-Building Trade Fairs in Germany

For the first time, baufach 2007 includes an industrial auction. It's mainly construction equipment that comes under the hammer - a European premiere for the Leipzig Fair. Just six months before the event, the organisers Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, the world's biggest holders of unreserved industrial auctions (auctions without reserve or minimum prices), have booked 50, 000 square metres on the outdoor area. Baufach 2007 trade fair will be held from 24 to 27 October 2007 at the Leipzig Fair.

Wolfgang Tiefensee, Federal Minister of Transport, Building & Urban Affairs, will be officially opening the baufach, the SHKG and the efa on 23 October 2007. The event also marks the end of the 6th Leipzig Building Conference, scheduled once again for the day before the baufach and headlined this year: "Building in Germany - Quality is a Winner". A media evening is already being held on 22 October prior to the Building Conference and the baufach.

Picking up on the good response to the last baufach programme, building in existing structures as well as energy and cost-saving construction are important topics in the autumn of 2007. Events are intended primarily for architects, planners, building owners and local authorities. Another key focus in the programme looks at the opportunities for the industry, architects, planners and skilled craftsmen in the expanded EU. For this, the fair is organising national days with partners from Poland and the Czech Republic. Both countries are in the immediate key catchment area for baufach.

Every year, Ritchie Bros. holds more than 175 public auctions in North, South and Central America, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. The listed company is in favour of socalled "unreserved auctions" at which there are no restrictions regarding price. With more than 110 branches in 27 countries, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers describes itself as one of the biggest auction houses worldwide.
