Gelato ICE: Itanium Conference & Expo

Gelato ICE: Itanium Conference & Expo will be held on October 1-2, 2007 at the Biopolis in Singapore. Gelato ICE is the world's only conference dedicated specifically to Linux on the Intel Itanium architecture. The conference will be hosted by the Bioinformatics Institute, Institute of High Performance Computing, and National Grid Office and sponsored by HP.

The technical program is outstanding and covers basic Itanium architecture, porting, tuning, and other topics such as virtualization, security, reliability/availability/serviceability (RAS), mainframe emulation, and Java. The program also includes more in-depth technical presentations to allow experienced users to further enhance Itanium-based application performance on the Linux operating system.

Gelato ICE is the conference for ISVs, system integrators, technical users, application and tool developers, and system researchers and vendors looking to unlock the potential of Linux on Itanium architecture. The event will address current enterprise and technical computing issues, collaborative solutions specific to Linux on the Itanium processor, and will feature presentations, poster sessions, and the exchange of information in formal and informal settings.

The Itanium architecture is primarily used in mission-critical enterprise computing and high-performance computing environments. The Itanium chip is a true 64-bit processor produced by Intel which can be found in systems from a variety of hardware vendors.
