The Forthcoming International Vitrum Exhibition

The 15th Vitrum - International trade fair for machinery, equipment and systems for the processing of flat and hollow glass; glass and finished products for industry - will have a roster of more-than-satisfactory results to present from 3 to 6 October 2007.

The first exhibition was staged way back in 1979 to offer a specialist international showcase for the Italian glass trade. Over the years, the potential of the glass industry has grown, also because of the ongoing and increasingly more leading-edge research carried out by Italian and foreign companies. This has been the driver of Vitrum's growing importance, making it one of the topmost international appointments.

Vitrum started out in 1979 with 5.000 square meters of net exhibition space. In 2005, this grew to more than 28.000 square meters and a good 30.000 square meters are expected for Vitrum 2007. The increase in the surface area also translates into a significant increase in the number of exhibitors and, as a result, in the number of visitors as well.

The organizers of Vitrum are moderately optimistic and expect the attendance figures to be up for the 2007 exhibition as well. According to the latest figures, more than 450 exhibitors will be attending and approx. 20, 000 people are expected to visit the 4-day event.

The Vitrum Secretariat has also been receiving a host of requests for information and participation forms. Once again Vitrum will be the showcase for the key players in this sector: manufacturers, retailers, agents and distributors will all be seizing this opportunity to strengthen and boost their business, showing that the market is definitely picking up and is poised to offer huge opportunities. For 4 days, Vitrum 2007 looks set to be the glass showcase par excellence.
