World Dairy Expo

The dairy industry's spotlight will be trained on Madison, Wisconsin, when World Dairy Expo takes place October 2-6. It is, after all, where the dairy industry meets – a brilliant place to exchange ideas, a dazzling display of dairy cattle and the brightest showcase of dairy technology, products and services geared to today's dairy producer.

It's the place for world-class competition among the country's top dairy breeders, with seven national and international breed shows, the Kingsmill Farm II International Futurity and six breed sales held on the grounds. More than 2, 000 head are expected to parade across the colored shavings. It's also home to national and international judging and skills contests at the 4-H, FFA, Intercollegiate and Post-Secondary level.

Add more than 1, 500 exhibit booths, and World Dairy Expo is the destination of choice this October. Attendees can look forward to a full spectrum of dairy-focused technology, products and services up and down every aisle. In total there will be over 650 companies from around the world making the 2007 trade show a must-see for annual and first-time visitors.

Attendees can take advantage of free education seminars on dairy management and other industry issues. These programs offer Expo visitors technical expertise to stay knowledgeable, competitive and profitable. Virtual farm tour programs offer the chance to explore a variety of dairy operations from around the continent without leaving World Dairy Expo. The half-hour visual presentations by producers offer a virtual learning experience right on the grounds.

Industry enthusiasts are invited to attend World Dairy Expo's Dinner with the Stars on Wednesday evening, October 3. Four individuals will be recognized for their lifetime of service to the dairy industry. The 2007 honorees include: Deborah Reinhart, Wisconsin - Dairy Woman of the Year; Frank Regan, Iowa - Dairyman of the Year; Steve Larson, Wisconsin - Industry Person of the Year and Dr. Juan Debernardi, Argentina - International Person of the Year.
