The 18th Food Expo

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre goes gourmet August 16 - 20 2007, when more than 360 exhibitors from around the world showcase their products to traders as well as the public at Food Expo 2007. The 18-th Food Expo, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), will be held concurrently with the 6-th International Conference and Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM) and the 2-nd Hong Kong International Medical and Health Care Fair.

Apart from Hong Kong exhibitors, Food Expo will include participants from Australia, Canada, the Chinese mainland, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Taiwan and Thailand. Companies from Macau and Russia are taking part for the first time.

Diversity is one of the characteristics of Food Expo, which includes nine major exhibition zones. Hall 1 features Health and Organic Food, Bakery Products and Sauces, Beverages and Restaurants, Biscuits, Snacks and Dairy Products, Canned, Frozen and Convenience Food, Trade Associations and Others, and Alcoholic Beverages, while Hall 2 focuses on Group Pavilions and Green and Organic Food. Group pavilions include the Chinese mainland, Korea and Japan, as well as first-time participants Australia, Russia and Canada.

Taking part at Food Expo will be eight exhibitors with Q-mark certification: Imperial Bird's Nest, Lee Kum Kee, Maxim's, Prince of Peace, Tung Chun Soy Sauce, Wing Wah, Nin Jiom Medicine and Satay King.

The fair's industry seminars will include "Tapping into the Organic Food Market" and the "Latest Trends and Developments of Perishable Cargo Handling – A Look at China Cold Chain." The fair will also feature more than 30 public activities and events, including a seminar on organic food by Hong Kong Organic Country, a talk on food and health by a certified nutritionist, a game organised by the TDC and Metro Broadcast, a Department of Health session on healthy eating for children and a cooking competition by Lisa magazine.
