IDG World Expo, the producer of world-class tradeshows and events has announced that attendee registration for LinuxWorld Conference & Expo 2007 is now open. The theme for this year's event is "Open Source is Everywhere" and the show will feature a strong spotlight on key areas that demonstrate the widespread acceptance of Linux and open source in corporate IT environments, including the data center, enterprise applications, the desktop, and mobile and embedded Linux. LinuxWorld Conference & Expo San Francisco, the event that focuses exclusively Linux and open source, is scheduled to take place August 6-9, 2007 at the Moscone Center.

During the past several years, Linux has reached a mainstream status through increased deployment in internet applications, the enterprise, mobile devices and desktop computers, and is increasingly ready for, and trusted with, mission critical applications. In addition, open source applications have crossed the threshold in which the majority of companies now consider these solutions on a par with or in preference to other options, recognizing the advantages of lower costs, increased security and flexibility in deployment.

LinuxWorld is the premier event for the Linux and open source community, bringing together industry leaders shaping the future of new enterprise technology in the largest single gathering of business and technical leaders deploying Linux and open source solutions.
