Wood Industry Forum

The Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS ) and VNU Expositions announced the decision to hold the semiannual Wood Industry Forum (WIF) at the AWFS Fair 2007.

Serving mill managers in the primary wood processing industry, WIF features educational seminars enhanced by tradeshow exhibits displaying the latest in equipment, machinery and services. The seminar program will be expanded to cover the four days of the Fair and the primary woodworking exhibition is expected to encompass 20, 000 net square ft.

AWFS will celebrate the 50th anniversary of AWFS Fair by making it the most successful event to date. The AWFS Fair combines the largest exhibition of woodworking hardware and machinery, board and panel products, upholstery material, wood components, supplies, services and new technologies in North America with unmatched networking opportunities and the finest professional educational conference in the industry. The addition of the Wood Industry Forum will even further enhance the experience and plethora of opportunities available to Fair attendees.

Founded in 1911, AWFS is the largest national trade association in the United States representing companies that supply the home and commercial furnishings industry. AWFS has an international membership that includes manufacturers and distributors of machinery, hardware, lumber, upholstery, materials, bedding and other supplies to furniture, cabinet manufacturers and custom woodworkers. The AWFS Fair is a biennial event in which buyers and manufacturers gather from around the world to buy and sell the latest products and services related to the wood and home furnishings markets.
