OutDoor 2007

OutDoor presents the latest trends in adventure and outdoor sports: on the new open-air course there will be demonstrations of "trail running" and "slacklining" – a new rope walking discipline. From Thursday through Sunday, 19-22 July, OutDoor 2007 will climb to record heights in Friedrichshafen. Over 700 exhibitors have confirmed their participation, already outstripping last year's record of 675 exhibitors.

Over 700 exhibitors from 40 countries will contribute to this spectacular outdoor event. Around 100 of the top industry brands are presenting themselves almost exclusively in Friedrichshafen. The early date and strong industry participation have motivated manufacturers to make their presentations in Friedrichshafen a top priority. All the latest trends and innovations for the European market will be presented here. The European Outdoor Group (EOG) will also be highlighting their "Association for Conservation" campaign. Virtually all EOG members will be represented at Lake Constance.

Registrations are now being accepted online for the second OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD, which is conferred by the Messe Friedrichshafen and organized by iF Design. Industry manufacturers are called on to make their entries for the categories clothing, shoes, packs/bags, mountaineering equipment, camping equipment, sleeping bags, water sports and accessories by 15 June 2007. This year, in addition to honouring the finalists in each category, the jury will again bestow gold, silver and bronze awards to the most innovative products in the competition.

The outdoor industry is looking to the future and to its future customers. A special presentation and symposium on "The Next Generation" will inform professionals on new trends, such as "trail running", "slacklining" and "bouldering". In trail running, participants jog cross-country over hill and dale. "Slacklining" is a variation on tightrope walking that involves balancing on a nylon rope that is not held rigidly taut. "Bouldering" is an exciting climbing sport practiced at safe heights without ropes or harnesses on boulders, cliff walls and in climbing halls.

A special presentation for trade visitors will focus on important target groups; children and young people enjoy being outdoors as much as the well-funded "50-and-over" generation, which highly values functional clothing and top-quality products. Today's customers wear outdoor fabrics and shoes on urban shopping expeditions just as naturally as they do during sporting activities below 1000 metres.
