BuildingsNY Pushes the 'Green' Envelope Significant New Initiatives

BuildingsNY, the #1 all-encompassing event for residential and commercial buildings, plants and facilities, has embraced the transformation of an industry and enhanced its offering for buildings professionals with several significant initiatives designed to provide 'green' information and product sourcing opportunities at the upcoming June 27-28 event at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, NY. BuildingsNY has formed an alliance with the United States Green Buildings Council (USGBC) to assist them, as well as the New York chapter, in reaching the New York buildings marketplace.

The USGBC is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. USGBC is composed of 7, 500 member organizations and a network of 75 regional chapters that work toward advancing its mission of transforming the building industry to sustainability.

Don't miss some of the new features in June BuildingsNY will be offering a series of educational sessions conducted by USGBC featuring the USGBC's LEED for Existing Buildings and LEED for General Contractors/Construction Managers; BuildingsNY has also created an alliance with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to provide educational and networking opportunities.

A partnership with New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN), a citywide, not-forprofit organization promoting New York City's economic development community to help the City's manufacturing businesses; BuildingsNY will feature an Energy & Green Buildings Pavilion, sponsored by New York House magazine, to provide easy product sourcing opportunities for buildings professionals. Here, all of the products and materials that reduce expense through green building techniques and products will be featured. To date, over 68 companies are participating including: Benjamin Moore; Wausau Paper; Con Edison; Sherwin Williams; Trane New York; and Constellation NewEnergy.
