The 4th Wellness and Spas Show

The 4th Wellness and Spas show will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 20-22 May, 2007. The event is the show across the region for spas and alternative health treatments and last year, in conjunction with the Beautyworld show, attracted 748 exhibitors and 8, 225 visitors. We spoke to Susan M Amin, Exhibition Manager for Messe Frankfurt, organisers of the show, about the choice of Dubai as a host City for Wellness and Spas 2007. The spa and wellness industry is experiencing phenomenal levels of growth, with more and more people across the world becoming attuned to the rejuvenating effects of spa treatments and the positive benefits of alternative therapies.

Wellness and Spas is now in its 4th year and is the largest event of its kind. Last year, in conjunction with Beautyworld Middle East, it attracted 748 exhibitors and 8, 225 visitors, with an incredible 98% stating that they would return this year.

Features for this year's exhibition include the unique use of a signature aromatherapy fragrance throughout the halls, created especially for the Wellness & Spas Middle East show. Motivated by the strong combination of Spa and Fitness, Wellness & Spas Middle East has set an accent on the fitness ector, with major providers showcasing the latest in fitness equipment and trends.

Plans are being made to host the quarterly MEFIT event; a fitness infused workshop from fitness professionals for fitness professionals - a so called update on trends, knowledge and training ideas. Alongside Wellness & Spas Middle East and in cooperation with the spa magazine SpaAsia, a conference will be held presenting key note speakers from the sector within the region; addressing spa and fitness professionals and analysing the major issues affecting the health and wellness industry.

The show will encompass all aspects of the health, wellness and spa industries, so can be divided into treatments, hardware and consumable products. Treatments will incorporate relaxation methods, massage, physiotherapy, aromatherapy, Ayurvedic healing and esthetic surgery clinics, to name just a few. Hardware will include wet and dry spas, gym and fitness equipment - such as resistance machines – and medical and rehabilitation appliances.
