The International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering

In 2007 AchemAsia – the seventh International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology will take place from 14 to 18 May on the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing/PR China. 2007 will host the largest exhibition ever since its première in the year 1989. Not only does the event in 2007 comprehend more halls than previously. There is also a remarkable trend towards bigger average stand sizes – which is quite controversial to the general worldwide trend of downsizing exhibition booths.

The scope of the exhibition is based on the priorities of the Chinese economy: chemical apparatus and plant construction, process technology, petrochemistry, maintenance and quality control, environmental protection, water treatment, pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, food technology, agrochemistry, laboratory and analytical techniques, packaging and storage techniques.

The target groups are all branches that offer or apply equipment, technologies, complete technical solutions and know-how for the related branches. AchemAsia 2007 is expected to attract some 500 exhibitors from 25 different countries and around 20, 000 visitors (2004: 414 exhibitors; 2001: 330 exhibitors). The exhibition will be located in five halls on 8, 560 m2 (2004: 6, 396 m2).

China is, probably more than ever before, the global hot spot for the chemical process industries. Being the world's powerhose for industrial manufacturing, China's chemical process industry with over 10% plays a key role in the country's industrial value adding chain. Not surprisingly, the ranking of the chemical industry has continually gone upwards within the respective Five-Year Plans of the past two decades. Against this background AchemAsia 2007 provides the ideal setting for the international equipment branches and technology suppliers for forging new contacts in the fast-track economic region of China.

Attendees at AchemAsia will also experience an all new international conference concept, with the congress now being fully integrated in the exhibition area. The congress underwent a substantial refurbishment regarding its content and focus as well. It will now have clearly visible focal topics with high priority for China's economy in a significantly streamlined outline.

Key topics are Sustainable water management for industries and municipalities (advanced technologies), Good manufacturing practice in pharmaceutical industry, Synfuels and Renewables (clean coal technologies, fossil fuels & syngas conversion), Biorefineries (biofuels, enzyme application, utilization of biomass, extraction), Chemical process engineering (hydrogen production, separation technologies, supercritical fluids, catalytic processes), Bioprocess engineering.
