To cope with the increasing demand, the exhibition space is being enlarged for 2007.

The Guangzhou lighting fair's importance and reputation is growing in the international marketplace, and this is reflected in the endorsement the 2007 fair is receiving from prestigious industry associations around the world. LUCI, the France-based Lighting Urban Community International, has signed on as an official supporter of the fair for 2007. LUCI is the international forum for key players in urban light. The association unites municipalities, designers, businesses and universities to increase exchange of information and experience in public lighting policies.

Lighting represents 13% of China's total energy consumption. Energy concern has prompted the Chinese Government to implement the "Green Lights Policy", which encourages the use of energy-efficient lighting technology and products in public facilities, hotels, commercial buildings, office buildings, sports facilities and residential buildings. With construction development being accelerated in preparation for the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, the regional market is rife with business opportunities for both local and international lighting suppliers.

The Guangzhou lighting fair aims to provide first-rate marketing and networking opportunities for lighting companies from all over the world. At the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, suppliers can find new direct customers from China and across Asia, build strategic partnerships with Chinese companies for manufacturing and distribution, survey the industry landscape and get an overview of design trends and technology developments, assess the marketability of products in China, and meet industry counterparts from other countries and improve market intelligence.
