Maquitec - International Machine Tool and Welding Exhibition

Maquitec will, for the first time, use pavilion 0 of Fira de Barcelona's Gran Vía exhibition centre. Maquitec 2007, which will be held from the 20th to the 24th of March 2007. The industrial show is expected to occupy around 18, 000m2 of net exhibition space.

A total of 231 direct exhibitors –including the brands in the different industrial specialities represented– have already confirmed their participation. It is estimated that the number of represented companies will be in excess of a thousand.

Companies from the following sectors will be participating in Maquitec 2007: Stock-removing machine tools, metal-forming machine tools, welding, subcontracting, cutting tools, hydraulics, pneumatics CAD / CAM, measuring and control, thermal and surface treatments, accessories, automatisms, tooling engineering and support service. Maquitec is a show which provides solutions, innovation and know-how and facilitates contact with suppliers of products and services for different industrial processes.

Up to now, metal-forming machine tools has been the most well represented sector in the show, followed by welding, stock-removing machine tools and thermal and surface treatments. Automatisms, engineering, subcontracting, robotics and CAD/CAM are the specialities which have most increased their presence over the years.

The motor and components industry, producers of domestic appliances, manufacturers of air conditioning equipment and installations and the aeronautical and naval sector are Maquitec's main demand sectors.

Aware of the importance of these user sectors in the north east and east of the mainland, where 40% of the country's industrial demand is concentrated, Maquitec is contacting organisations, associations, chambers of commerce, subcontracting exchanges and provincial guilds associated with the metal and machine tool industry in order to attract a larger number of buyers to the show. The organisers expect an audience of over 20, 000 visitors. Nonetheless, the main objective of Maquitec is to ratify the quality of visitors.

With regard to side events, Maquitec is also preparing a full programme of conferences aimed at involving the different sectors of industrial demand. Training in innovation, management of know-how and opening up to new markets at a time of industrial change are key factors for increasing company competitiveness. The Maquitec conferences will provide contents geared to improving these issues.
