Reise / Camping, the tourism fair with the highest number of visitors and the sole spring caravanning fair in North Rhine-Westphalia, will go to the starting line at Messe Essen on February 21 25, 2007. Right on time for the starting phase of the spring and summer seasons, approx. 750 exhibitors will show their international touristic ranges on offer, the comprehensive spectrum of the latest caravan and camping car models, mobile homes, tents as well as accessories and leisure equipment. Around 100, 000 visitors are expected at Reise / Camping which is regarded as the "mother" of the German leisure fairs: In 2007, it will take place for the 50th time.

25 nations from various continents will introduce themselves in the special presentation entitled "The World as Guests in Essen". In Hall 9, the visitors will experience a journey around the world. Cultural highlights, music and dance will accompany the visitors on their trip around the globe and typical national specialities will make the "Tour Around the World" a culinary delight as well. The cooperation partner of this "special event" is Corps Touristique, the umbrella organisation of the foreign representatives for tourism and railways in Germany.

The newest vehicle models will be in the limelight in the camping/caravanning section which will be considerably larger than in the previous year. All the renowned manufacturers of leisure vehicles will show the whole diversity of caravan and camping car makes - in all price classes and numerous equipment variants. The exhibitors will fulfil all the individual caravanning wishes: from the value-for-money folding caravan via comfortable caravans for the family and trendy vehicles for the lifestyle generation right up to luxury "bungalows" on wheels and mobiles suitable for expeditions. Mobile homes from various manufacturers will line up in the "Mobile Home Strolling Mile" in the Galeria at Messe Essen.

On the occasion of the round birthday of "Reise / Camping", Deutscher Camping-Club, Germany's trade association for caravan, motor caravan and tent tourists, will award its DCC European Prize in Essen for the first time. DCC, which has been the ideal sponsor of "Reise / Camping" since the premiere of the fair in 1958, honours outstanding European camping sites with the award. The fact that the renowned prize which has previously been presented in Munich will now be conferred in the middle of the campers' stronghold of North Rhine-Westphalia highlights the significance of "Reise / Camping" for the entire camping industry and DCC's close attachment to Messe Essen.
