Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2007

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry, co-organizers of Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2007, have zeroed in on buyers from the so-called 'BRIC' nations, including Brazil, Russia, India and China, encouraging them to make massive procurements of Taiwan-made machine tools at the show. The biennial TIMTOS will open March 12-17, 2007 at the Hall 1, 2 and 3 of the Taipei World Trade Center.

To that end, TAITRA has instructed its overseas representative offices to invite 20-strong firms from such heavyweights as Weber, Linares, Irlen, and Mega to visit the show, which is expected to bring in between NT$1 billion and NT$2 billion in business opportunity.

TAMI said Russia is a very promising market for domestic machine-tool manufacturers because the nation imported US$3.7 million worth of machine tools from Taiwan yearly, accounting for only a mere 1% of its total imports of the products. Accordingly, TAMI and TAITRA will invite the most important agents from Russia to procure domestically made products at the TIMTOS 2007.

TAITRA noted it will arrange five presentations and tens of business talks in the first two days of the TIMTOS 2007 so that domestic manufacturers would have good chances to promote their products face-to-face with foreign buyers.

At the TIMTOS 2007, 700-strong domestic and international exhibitors will occupy 2, 760 booths, both hitting historic highs and making the show as one of the three largest machine-tool show in Asia.
