17th International Engineering & Technology Fair

The global footprints of Indian companies coupled with the burgeoning domestic economy have transformed India into a preferred destination for international business community. The renewed interest of global leaders in India is also evident from the increased participation of international companies across the sectors in the 17th International Engineering & Technology Fair (IETF) 2007, which begun at Pragati Maidan. Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), this year's IETF has attracted the maximum international participation with as many as 55 countries registering their presence, which makes IETF 2007 Asia's largest all industry business fair.

Japan the partner country at IETF 2007, is displaying the rich industry and technology and high end products. Over 100 Japanese companies including giants like Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Hitachi, Canon, Toshiba and Mitsubishi have made their presence felt at the IETF 2007. The Japanese participation features consumer durables, machine tools, transport machinery, electronics, automotives, robots, construction equipment and medical equipment

This is the 17th fair in series which has attracted participation from 55 countries including, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, USA and UK. International Exhibitors include France, Germany, Korea and other ASEAN countries. This global platform aims to bring together a diverse cross section of stakeholders particularly from Engineering & Technology sector from India and Overseas.

The Indian engineering and manufacturing industry is following the path of IT to make India a technology and engineering leader in the world. With highly skilled manpower, India today has become a global workshop offering cost effective and innovative solutions. This is evident from the vast presence of global players in IETF 2007. However, to further leapfrog and gain exponential economic growth in all sectors India needs to cooperate with other countries for mutual benefit.

The IETF acts as a bridge building platform bringing various stakeholders including CEOs, decision makers, developers and operators and buyers and sourcing personnel, ministerial delegations, technical experts, diplomats, consultants, government agencies and public sector undertakings together.
