Trade Fair for Original Asian Lifestyle

From 9 to 13 February 2007, international trade fair Ambiente will once again be transformed into a colourful world of gift articles, setting the pace for a successful year of business. One day later, on 10 February, Asianliving will be opening its doors for four days. This trade fair for original Asian lifestyle projects and consumer goods, which will be taking place just a few kilometres away on the Offenbach exhibition grounds, has a concept that ties in closely to that of Ambiente. As in previous years, transfer buses will be running between the Frankfurt and Offenbach exhibition grounds every ten minutes free of charge.

Trade visitors with a ticket to Ambiente will be able to get into Asianliving free of charge. This gives traders from all around the world an opportunity to visit the realm of Far Eastern consumer goods quickly and easily. Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen GmbH is expecting approx. 250 Asian exhibitors. The themes are table, kitchen and stove, bathroom, house and garden. Gifts, practical and decorative accessories and small items of furniture will be on display. Products will include both competitively priced goods produced especially for Europe and authentic, high-quality works of art.

There will also be a special furniture showcase with a number of attractive exhibits. The high level of interest in Asian products has become a sustained trend, and Asianliving is able to service this increasing demand for Asian consumer goods and lifestyle products. According to the German Office for Foreign Trade (bfai), "The importance of India and the People's Republic of China for the German retail sector is undisputed." The report also states that: "Two thirds of the non-food articles on the shelves come from these two countries." While Datamonitor researchers calculated that total sales of Asian foods in 1999 were €125 million, they are predicted to reach nearly €380 million by 2009.

Asian specialities have long been a standard feature of the product range at supermarkets and department stores, and people who enjoy cooking Asian food are sure to love the authentic tools of the trade, such as woks and sushi mats, as well as Far Eastern designs for their kitchenware, furniture and decorative home textiles. Be it green tea, sake, soup, dip or enamel bowls, the cream of Oriental goods can be found at Asianliving. Pillows, placemats, rugs and lamps in ethnic designs – in Offenbach, there is something for every budget. There are even feng shui items, fountains and bronze figurines, not to mention friendly Buddhas for the terrace or garden.
