Annual Taiwan & China Semiconductor Outlook Conference

The US-Taiwan Business Council announced the keynote speakers for Taiwan + China Semiconductor Outlook 2007. This half-day conference, scheduled for February 7, 2007 in Santa Clara, California, provides semiconductor and IT company executives with a forum to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the increasing integration of the U.S., Taiwan, and China semiconductor markets.

Taiwan's semiconductor industry is currently faced with a number of challenges regarding its expansion in the China market – an issue that has repercussions not only for Taiwan's global competitiveness but also for the ability of Taiwan chipmakers to achieve greater supply-chain integration with their global customers and suppliers, many of whom already have a significant China presence.

The semiconductor industry has become a growing concern for the U.S. government, particularly as America increasingly relies on Asia-based chipmaking. The U.S. government continues to review its technology policies and restrictions on investment and trade and to reform a system that better balances the interests of American companies and national security concerns.
