HUBER+SUHNER to showcase dedicated solutions for the Connected City at ANGA COM 2019

On display at the show will be the company’s latest connectivity solutions for smart cities illustrated by its exciting Connected City project

HUBER+SUHNER, a leading manufacturer of components and systems for electrical and optical connectivity, will present its latest smart city connectivity solutions including FTTx, Big Data and Small Cells with its innovative Connected City project. The company will also introduce for the first time in Europe the newly launched SENCITY® Urban MIMO antennas.

Making life more economical, efficient and sustainable, the Connected City project combines products from HUBER+SUHNER that allow service providers to deliver holistic connectivity. To overcome the challenges of integrating the many entities and departments within a city, the project applies a wide range of applications such as city network infrastructure, Small Cells, Data Centers, FTTx and autonomous traffic, as well as public traffic.

Reto Meyer, Account Manager for Mobile Communication at HUBER+SUHNER said: “A connected city simplifies complex processes, optimises energy and resources and closely brings global advantages to people faster than would otherwise be possible. The role of connectivity in our cities and communities fosters intelligent life, work and living for the future. It supports our everyday needs and makes our lives more efficient and more sustainable. Intelligent cities are also more economical for companies and more attractive for residents. We are proud to be launching this project to support the reality of connected cities across the globe.”

An integral application in the Connected City project are Small Cells which are critical to providing capacity and coverage in urban areas. To be introduced for the first time in Europe at ANGA COM, the new SENCITY® Urban MIMO antennas provide high-speed mobile coverage in otherwise highly congested city environments. In cities where space is very limited, the small, compact antennas fit seamlessly on existing city infrastructure, overcoming the challenges of providing cost-effective 4G and 5G coverage in urban areas.

To support the integration of connected cities, HUBER+SUHNER will also display its range of complementary products including the Optibox 4, 6 and 12. The Optibox family helps to meet the demands of many applications with splicing, patching, routing and splitting capabilities. The Optiboxes act as the interface between the optical access network of the service provider and the in-building networkmaking them an integral tool for managing connections in multiple applications.

Andreas Matzelsberger, Markt Manager Fixed Line Carrier, says “HUBER+SUHNER is proud to offer a range of solutions to support fiber optic connectivity across many applications in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network infrastructure and for Data Centers.” Matzelsberger adds, “To operate seamlessly in a hyperconnected city, our IANOS® fiber management system is the ideal foundation for supporting data rates from 1G to 400G and beyond. Flexibility is the prerequisite for a high-quality service that can quickly adapt to increasing requirements. The modularity of the IANOS system provides our customers this flexibility with its pay-as-you-grow approach.”

On display at ANGA COM will also be the LISA Double Access cross-connect fiber management system, which is simple, reliable and highly efficient. The LISA organises cabling in a clear and intuitive way with a maximum density of 3600 ports per rack.

With the award-winning CUBO Mini 100G, a compact, stand-alone optical demarcation device, service providers no longer have to deploy expensive transponders and CFP transceivers, but can now use a variety of QSFP28 transceivers to lower the cost of 100G service delivery to their customers.

Elisabeth Kolkhuis Tanke, Marketing and Business Manager says: “We are excited to be sharing our Connected City project alongside our extensive range of FO connectivity products at ANGA COM. Having designed solutions in this sector for many years, we understand that fiber infrastructure is at the heart of connected cities and is the tool to overcome connectivity challenges. Our new Connected City project is built to show how service providers can excel connectivity in cities with a holistic solution.”

Attendees of ANGA COM 2019 are invited to see the Connected City project representation for themselves at booth H31 in hall 7. Visitors to the booth will see how the various applications are interlinked and how they contribute to the development of a connected city.
