The Good Exchange registers with the Fundraising Regulator

Not-for-profit cloud platform, The Good Exchange, has today announced that it has officially registered with the Fundraising Regulator.

The Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice requires that fundraising platforms take all reasonable steps to treat donors fairly, enabling them to make informed decisions to donate. It also dictates that all fundraising platforms should provide clear, transparent and accessible information on their services to ensure that members of the public know where their donation is going and what their rights are in the event of a problem.

The Fundraising Regulator analysed information provided to donors across eighteen platforms - including The Good Exchange, JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving - considering five key areas: How much of each donation reaches the charity; how donors or fundraisers can make a complaint; the policy on refunds; how donations are protected against fraud and how donors can be sure their contribution is being used for its intended purpose, and the policy on donations to private bank accounts.

As a not-for-profit organisation, wholly owned by registered charity (Greenham Trust), The Good Exchange's core principles are based on transparency and fairness to donors, fundraisers, grant-makers and the charities and good causes that receive funds. The Good Exchange's vision for complete collaboration across the charitable sector delivered through its online charity matching platform is transforming charitable giving, by bringing together multiple grants, donations and fundraising activities together, instantly matching the grant makers and donors with money to give to good causes with the charities and community groups that need it most.

Ed Gairdner, COO of the Good Exchange said: "We're pleased that the Fundraising Regulator has recognised that our processes and operations align with its Code of Fundraising Practice. As a not-for-profit organisation, our core ethos centres on fairness, making a positive contribution to society, and harnessing the power of technology to close the funding gap. We view transparency as essential to securing the future of the sector, and are fully committed to bringing good causes, funding organisations and individuals together for the good of the industry."
