Women in Localization Co-founder Honored with Women Worth Watching in STEM Award

Sunnyvale, California – March 7th, 2017 – Women in Localization is proud to announce that co-founder and Board member Anna N. Schlegel has been named a winner of the 2017 Women Worth Watching in STEM Award. STEM is a new category in the annual Women Worth Watching leadership recognition program presented by the Profiles in Diversity Journal, a leading quarterly magazine dedicated to promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion. Award winners are nominated by their employers or colleagues for creating value for other women and companies, organizations and agencies behind women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Anna Schlegel is a native of Catalunya, currently working at NetApp as Senior Director of Global Engineering. Anna is co-founder of Women in Localization and Chair of Women in Technology at NetApp. Anna is also the Founder of the Kenyan organization “Imagine Educating Everyone” which supports five schools for elementary school aged girls in Africa.

“Anna has excelled in the global engineering field, currently leading a global product engineering team with more than 180 members. Her achievements in global content innovation and globalization at Netapp as well as Women in Localization has inspired countless women, ” states Allison McDougall, Women in Localization Chair. “She embodies the very mission of our organization, and we are extremely proud of her contributions.”
