Localization World 2011 to Start June 14th

Innovation has many faces. It can occur out of necessity, by chance or in a planned manner. Localization World 2011 will investigate these ideas with 50 presentations and discussions on the topic. The leading conference on international product and corporate communications, with its accompanying professional products and services exhibition, will serve as the meeting point for decision makers, communication managers, language service providers and translators from 14 - 16 June 2011 at the Gran Hotel Princesa in Barcelona. Building on the foundation of its 16 previous conferences the event offers cross-industry expertise for a wide variety of needs.

Individual sessions are grouped into five tracks:
• Global Business Best Practices: Experienced business people provide practical insights for companies that want to venture with confidence into new international markets.
• Managing Global Websites: Leading companies, each with an outstanding web presence, offer their expertise for launching and maintaining a worldwide web platform.
• Localization Core Competencies: An introductory track for companies that need to localize, but are unsure where to start.
• Advanced Localization Management: This track, the heart of Localization World, continues to provide the latest information on trends, processes, technologies and influences that shape the world of localization.
• Inside Track: Special format sessions for deepening understanding of select topics and sessions that stimulate collaboration and community.

Speakers from renowned companies will share their knowledge with conference attendees. For example, Rashmi Shaefers and Hajo von Kracht will speak about SAP's approach to web localization and will demonstrate how SAP has accommodated both the requirements of globalization as well as those of personalization and how localization can be a strategic driver to achieve business objectives.

Danica Brinton, from online gaming company Zynga, will present on the phenomenon of CityVille and through Adobe's example participants will learn methods for a business to directly engage international customers. In another track, Yvan Hennecart from SDL and Victor Luk from Research In Motion Limited, the company behind the Blackberry product line, will explain the three key points which inform a localization strategy – people, process and technology. Patricia Paladini Adell describes the CA Technologies' strategy to increase productivity while lowering costs of translation processes. Additionally there will be a series of discussions about machine translation, which will have been begun as part of the TAUS Executive Forum a few days before Localization World and which will culminate on 16 June.

Fitting to the comprehensive program of the conference, Patrick Dixon, one of the 20 most influential business thinkers in the world, will open the main conference on 15 June. Dixon is regarded as one of Europe's leading trends researchers. His keynote "Futurewise – Six Faces of Global Change and Five Key Innovation Trends" will draw on the six faces of global change he wrote about in his book "Futurewise – Six Faces of Global Change."

The keynote and main conference will be preceded on 14 June by a preconference day. Of note is the Life Sciences Round Table, a one-and-a-half day special session focusing on the challenges of localization in the medical industry. Recent announcements as well as technical innovations and quality improvement tools will be covered. An additional highlight on 14 June will be a special panel discussion for professionals responsible for marketing, internet presence, global branding and international sales. The panel of experts will explore issues related to how to improve and increase brand integrity and market share across cultures, languages and locales. The various aspects of successful global brand management will be addressed. A variety of workshops with experts, for example around sales and marketing, aid in the practical implementation of tasks.
