Cambridge Wireless Expands International Membership

Cambridge Wireless is expanding its international reach with new members including Fairfax County Economic Development Authority in the US and Canadian based start-up Youi Labs.

"While we call ourselves Cambridge Wireless as this is where we have our roots, our membership stretches much further from partner organisations in Ireland such as WirelessLab, to our large multinational members like Qualcomm, France Telecom, Microsoft, Nokia and Freescale", said Soraya Jones, CEO of Cambridge Wireless. "This creates global opportunities for our members and our annual Future of Wireless International Conference in June draws delegates from as far afield as India, Czec Republic and Jordan."

Jason Flick CEO of Youi Labs commented: "Being a part of Cambridge Wireless opens a lot of doors for us. As we are based in Canada it is extremely useful to be part of an organisation which is highly connected and can help us to meet like-minded individuals from all over the UK and internationally."

Cambridge Wireless was started by serial entrepreneur, David CleevelyFREng (Analysys Mason, Abcam), with the aim to promote industry discussion and growth. The organisation has seen a 400% membership increase in the UK in less than three years and is now focused on international expansion.

"Networking is vital for keeping in touch with what is going on in the industry and making connections with people who will support you and your idea", said David Cleevely, Chairman of Cambridge Wireless. "Provided you are prepared to be positive and contribute to your network by helping other people then that network has the potential to make your ideas come alive and to help you in ways you never thought possible."
