Hitachi Consulting Named as Entrepreneur in the Green Quadrant Sustainable Technology Services

Hitachi Consulting has been named as an Entrepreneur in the Green Quadrant Sustainable Technology Services report by Verdantix. This report defines sustainable technology services as IT consulting, systems design, software implementation and IT systems integration that support sustainable business objectives such as energy efficiency, emissions management, renewable energy infrastructure and sustainability risk assessment.

According to Verdantix, Hitachi Consulting is one of the few firms evaluated that has capabilities across all of the areas evaluated with an impressive level of innovation and customer success achieved on climate change risk assessment. Hitachi Consulting also scored strong for capabilities in data centre efficiency. The results of this study were based on Hitachi Consulting's international capabilities in the United States, Europe and Japan.

Hitachi Consulting launched its Environmental Sustainability Solutions practice in January 2010 to help companies measure and manage their environmental impact reduction initiatives. This practice services clients across many industries with environmentally-focused service offerings including sustainability strategy and research, environmental impact reporting, energy intelligence, green IT services and sustainable supply chain, along with collaboration and employee engagement.

Hitachi Consulting's efforts are just part of Hitachi Ltd.'s overall commitment to improving global infrastructure, while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions through sophisticated technology solutions by addressing some of the most pressing issues including energy, mobility, IT and health challenges facing society today. In September 2010, Hitachi, Ltd. and Panasonic Corp. announced an agreement to establish a cooperative relationship in the smart community business to realise a low-carbon society for China and other countries.
