Transversal Achieves ISO 27001 Certification

Transversal announces that it has been ISO 27001 certified. ISO 27001 is the latest internationally recognised standard developed exclusively for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). It requires companies to employ a methodical approach to managing sensitive information and ensuring data security. Transversal is the first organisation in its sector to achieve ISO 27001 certification.

As Transversal provides its award-winning customer self-service systems through a "Software as a Service" model, ISO 27001 demonstrates that its processes, procedures and management systems meet the highest levels of robustness in order to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of confidential information. Certification provides additional assurance for Transversal's blue chip customer base, which includes Barclays, Aviva and Capita/BBC. Many public sector and financial services organisations mandate ISO 27001 certification.

The only internationally accepted security standard, ISO 27001 demonstrates and ensures security best practices and a managed approach to business information protection including risk, governance and compliance. It combines risk analysis and risk treatment and is backed up by ten exhaustive control categories including: information security policy, security organisation, personnel security, access controls, physical security, asset classification controls, continuity planning, system deployment, communication management and compliance.

Transversal has been working to achieve ISO 27001 compliance for over 18 months. As part of this it has established a core team to ensure that the highest levels of information security are developed and maintained. Transversal was evaluated for the efficacy of its execution of information security procedures and policies to guard the confidential information and intellectual property of both itself and its customers. Periodic internal audits and surveillance audits by external bodies will ensure that the highest standards are continuously maintained.
