Hitachi Consulting UK Receives Military Commendation

Hitachi Consulting UK announces that the success of the project team working with Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Command and the Future Brize programme has led to military commendations announced at the same time as HM The Queen's 2010 Birthday Honours List.

The individual Commendations by the Air Officer Commanding Number 2 Group were awarded to three HCUK/AMTEC individuals working on the programme team, with certificates awarded by Air Commodore Paul N Oborn CBE RAF, Programme Future Brize Director. The certificates were awarded in appreciation of the meritorious service rendered to the RAF by HCUK/AMTEC while serving Number 2 Group and is the first time that External Assistants (EAs) or third party contractors that are not civil servants, have been awarded such commendations.

As part of the consulting team, HCUK completed a full turnaround exercise. The team specifically designed and implemented a revised programme governance structure to deliver Programme Future Brize and coached the RAF team in management disciplines. The new programme delivery approach is currently being adopted elsewhere in the Royal Air Force. Programme Future Brize aims to establish Brize Norton as the RAF's centre for air transport and air-to-air refuelling operations, significantly reducing costs through the closure of RAF Lyneham.
