Paltalk 9.9 Launched

Paltalk has announced the launch of Paltalk 9.9 - the latest version of its real-time, video-based chat community. Already used by more than four million active members with more than 100,000 of those members chatting simultaneously at any given time, the new Paltalk video chat platform now boasts multiple new ease-of-use tools, mobility options and audio/video upgrades.

Paltalk is the only video chat technology with the ability to scale for any size chat rooms (one-to-one or thousands-to-thousands) and has been downloaded more than 70 million times to date. Paltalk allows users to connect with friends or with people they do not know on a variety of platforms, including chat rooms, one-on-one video IMs and SuperIMs, the company's flagship instant messaging client that allows users to share video, audio and text with up to 10 people at any time for free.

Major features of the latest iteration of Paltalk include:
- SuperIM URLs - personalized links that allow video chat anywhere on the Web with any friend, regardless of whether they are a Paltalk member;
- Facebook Chat Integration - ability to IM with Facebook friends directly from Paltalk;
- BlackBerry Mobile Support - IM-based mobile support for the BlackBerry platform;
- Video-Centric Look and Feel for SuperIM - four times more space allotted to webcam video;
- Friends Feed in SideKick - new SideKick Tab shows status updates of Paltalk friends activity;
- High Resolution Video & High Fidelity Audio - over 20 frames/sec with improved resolution and a richer, more enhanced audio experience;
- Windows 7 Certification - the first video chat provider certified as "Compatible with Windows 7" - the Paltalk platform was first certified on October 7, 2009.

Additional features of SuperIM URLs include high resolution video for all participants; a quick and easy ability to share SuperIM URLs with address book contacts; and an intuitive interface supporting one-on-one standard IM conversations as well as the ability to allow incoming IM requests to join conversations already in progress and invite additional individuals.
