IGEL Announces Certification for VMware Virtual Desktop Manager 2.1

IGEL Technology has announced certification for VMware Virtual Desktop Manager 2.1, on IGEL's Linux-based Smart, Compact, Winestra and Premium Universal Desktop appliances. VMware provides TAP program members with tools to develop products that are complementary to VMware virtualisation software and help to deliver high-value solutions to joint customers.

"Our goal is to offer VMware and IGEL's mutual customers the greatest freedom of choice and technological excellence so they can utilise the full potential of their VMware-based desktop solution", said Stephen Yeo, worldwide strategic marketing director for IGEL Technology. "The certification of all our Linux-based Universal Desktops comes in addition to the existing certification of our Windows XP Embedded devices. This gives customers the choice between 12 different IGEL models, supporting two different operating systems, with VMware Ready Certified status. All of these devices come bundled with the advanced IGEL Universal Management Suite 3 software that allows systems administrators to remotely manage the device easily, including its VMware Virtual Desktop Linux client."

With more than 800 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
