Who Will Win the First 'Jazoon Rookie' Title in 2009?

As the first Java developer conference in Europe to do so, Jazoon'09 is launching a competition for young speakers aged up to 26 years-old to win the chance to appear at Jazoon in front of an international audience. An expert jury will select the 3 most interesting presentations and these 3 young speakers will be invited by the organizer, including flight, hotel and 3 days conference pass, to present during Jazoon'09. For the first time ever, Jazoon will confer the title "Jazoon Rookie 2009" to the best young speaker. Topic proposals for "Jazoon Rookie" talks can be submitted starting immediately.

From 22 to 25 June 2009, Jazoon will take place for the 3rd time in Zurich and offers an attractive program with top international speakers. With the debut of the "Jazoon Rookie" contest, 3 young speakers will appear in the limelight for the first time at Jazoon '09 and compete for the Jazoon young star title. "Jazoon Rookie" talks will last 20 minutes each and will be broadcasted live in front of an audience and an expert jury. The talks offer young developers the chance to present a talk on open source or Java technology and to gather initial experience as a conference speaker.

Talks can be submitted online in the form of a short summary of the topic via jazoon.com until 31 December 2008. In January 2009, the Jazoon Program Committee will select the 10 best submissions and request a video presentation (duration 10 minutes) from each candidate. Afterwards, the 3 best candidates will be committed to a "Jazoon Rookie" presentation. The Jazoon Program Committee has international representation and is chaired by Corsin Decurtins of Netcetera Zurich and member of the executive board of the Swiss Java Users Group (JUGS).
