Queen Mary University Selects IBM Cognos Software

Cognos, an IBM company, announces that Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has selected IBM Cognos software to maximise performance. QMUL will use IBM Cognos 8 Planning to ensure all departments are effectively resourced and prepared for the new student intake by 2009.

With Cognos, QMUL can achieve distinct and clear resource allocation and increased reporting capability. It can use "what if?" scenario planning to calculate resources for critical tasks such as hiring professors or building new classrooms.

Rapid expansion made the University an increasingly complex £220 million operation. With numerous departments offering multiple courses and a huge intake of new students each year, accurate resource planning was clearly of vital importance.
