NEC Secures WiMAX Forum Certification for Its Base Station and PC Card

NEC announces that it has received the WiMAX Forum Certified seal of approval for its base station and PC card, part of NEC's 2.5GHz WiMAX product portfolio.

Each newly certified product has faced a stringent suite of interoperability tests, which the WiMAX Forum sets out to ensure that different vendor systems work seamlessly with one another.

This certification follows a long history of global WiMAX successes for NEC. Notably, in June of this year, NEC became the first manufacturer to be certified through the WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Lab in Taiwan.

NEC's WiMAX portfolio supports all of the Mobile WiMAX elements that make it the wireless technology of choice for next generation networks, including high speed data access, VoIP and mobile services.
