HIT Entertainment Signs a New Contract with Attenda

Attenda has signed a new contract with HIT Entertainment, one of the world's leading independent children's entertainment producers and rights owners, for the global delivery of its Outsourced Data Centre Services.

HIT's portfolio of pre-school properties include Barney, Bob the Builder, Thomas & Friends, Pingu, Fireman Sam, Angelina Ballerina and Rainbow Magic. Launched in 1989, HIT's lines of business span television and video production, content distribution, publishing, consumer products, licensing and live events. HIT Entertainment has operations in UK, US, Canada, Hong Kong and Japan.

Under the contract, Attenda will provide a fully managed service across HIT Entertainment's critical business applications including websites, internal server infrastructure using VMware virtualisation, messaging & VOIP applications and its AS/400 JD Edwards ERP system. The Attenda service will also include a new Digital Asset Management platform for efficient distribution and management of all digital assets such as clips, characters and video.

The JD Edwards ERP system will be relocated from Dallas in the US to the UK during 2008, as part of a consolidation programme to reduce the number of locations worldwide. Attenda is partnering with IBM UK to deliver remote managed services for the AS/400 JDE platform. The contract is being further extended toward the end of 2008 to include Disaster Recovery and Work Area Recovery Services for the AS/400 platform.
