University of Edinburgh website Now Live on the Polopoly 9 Platform

The new University of Edinburgh website is now live on the Polopoly 9 platform. The University has been working with Polopoly for several years and have previously built smaller sites for several units in the institution using Polopoly 8.

This new site represents the culmination of a two year project to develop and embed Polopoly v. 9, creating a content management system which is scalable and resilient taking the University forward to an exciting new capability in web publishing.

The new website development project brings more than just new technology. It represents a new approach to University web publishing. The new web solution now provides the University with an editorial framework to facilitate online editorial work and collaboration, and demonstrates the beginnings of a much more consistent and clearly branded experience for the end user.

The Polopoly-powered website was built by the University's in-house development team, ably supported by Polopoly consultants. It operates in a Solaris, Oracle and Resin environment.
