Ilium Software Releases eWallet 6.0

Ilium Software is announces the release of eWallet 6.0, the latest version of their password manager program. eWallet is available for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs and Smartphones, Palm OS handhelds, Windows PCs, U3 Smart Drives, and UMPCs. With this release, Ilium Software is also unveiling the eWallet Web Companion. This web-based application allows eWallet users to view their information on the iPhone, iPod touch, Blackberry devices, Symbian phones, or any other device with a web browser and an internet connection.

Current owners and new users alike will find many great new features in eWallet 6.0. The encryption method has been updated to a stronger, government-level 256-bit AES FIPS algorithm, offering better security for important information. Users can also insert and encrypt files into their wallets, making it safe and easy to take data with them to access whenever they need it. And now users can even tell the program to automatically save a backup of their file any time they close or lock it, ensuring that no one will have to be without the info they need. eWallet 6.0 also adds SFTP synchronization, allowing users to securely synchronize their information to remote locations.

Aside from offering top-level security, eWallet 6.0 gives users many new ways to personalize their wallets to fit their style. Users will find two built-in card background graphics included in the program, as well as 10 more free background graphics available for download from Ilium Software's website. For users who just like to use colors for their cards instead of images, eWallet 6.0 now blends any background color into a gradient on the card, bringing an updated look and feel to the program. The website also offers another free download to customize cards and categories, in the form of a brand-new Icon Pack with over 200 icons inside.

In addition to unique designs for every card, users will now be given a choice on how they would like to view their data. eWallet 6.0 introduces Flex View, which allows users to read their card data in an easy-to-browse list. Of course, eWallet's well-known card-style view is still available, displaying information as if it were on a real card.

Among eWallet's other new features are a built-in Import Wizard on the desktop to help users switch easily from other password programs, and greatly improved 1-handed navigation, making it simpler to create, edit and use cards on mobile devices. Windows Mobile Smartphone users will also find that eWallet 6.0 now includes all the same features on their devices as on the Windows Mobile Pocket PC platform, offering them the same experience with the program if they work on multiple devices.

In conjunction with the release of eWallet 6.0, Ilium Software is also announcing a new partnership with Web Information Solutions. The two companies announce that eWallet 6.0 will combine the best features of both FlexWallet and eWallet, and that older version licenses for both titles will be upgradeable to eWallet 6.0. Complete data compatibility across platforms will let current FlexWallet and eWallet users have compatible wallets across Windows Mobile, Palm, U3, and Windows desktop platforms, with a Blackberry version, based on FlexWallet for BlackBerry, to be released for Blackberry devices in the first half of 2008.
